A Big WELCOME from our team!
Hello! We are so excited you have visited our website and blog, ya'll. We cannot WAIT to give you all updates each week on the sessions we've done and adventures we've been on with clients. Frequently, I will be updating you on the wedding packages we are offering, what our team has been up to, and some advice we have for all of our couples.
I wanted to highlight some important changes we've made in the last year since we've become a "for real for real" business. Since becoming an LLC, I have trade shoot'd a lot with my friends/second shooters/family Alexis and Sabrina. Sabrina and I worked together at Converse and she was my boss, but she's more like "that fun aunt" to me. I don't really like calling it "my" because we truly are a team, even if it's under my name. Alexis and I met 7 years ago officially when I did some portraits for her, but we remember each other from high school. I wish we had been friends our whole life. I love her like a sister (and we fight like that too behind the scenes hahaha).
This is where Kelley comes in. Kelley's like that friend of your friend who you wish was your best friend because she's cool. Well, that happened. 3 peas in a pod, K.A. and me are....really though, we are Alexis' bridesmaids in her wedding this year. I love these people. They are my home and adventure wrapped up in pretty Nikon bows. They all shoot with Nikon and I am Canon. I like to think that switches things up a bit and it doesn't bother me at all. I like their experiences and feel like they have been shaped and molded into the best employees I could find.
This year, we are also going to hire them all, and I am also taking on 3 interns, one of them is a photographer already and she's amazing (names not to be released just yet until the fine details are all panned out), one is one of my brides who is a vinyl business owner, and she's super cute, and the other is my cousin, Andrew, who is amazing at photo & film and going to Clemson this year for college for Material Science.
I've always wanted to become a business owner, but I'll be transparent with yall. Vulnerability has been hard for me. Not now, but growing up and becoming me. When I became a therapist, that kind of was like a NUMBER ONE on the two-do list, but not doing things "the right way" or "the best way" is something I struggle with when I cannot obtain quite near perfect. I hate being identified as a perfectionist because I know there's no worldy way to achieve that, but let's call it what it is. YA GIRL HAS ANXIETY AND SOMETIMES IT RUNS RAMPID, so I have to reel myself in. I do that by using extreme boundaries, a lot of self-care, and scheduling my daily life with 3 agendas. It sounds silly, but it works for me. I also wrangle in all this chaos by achieving success, by being organized in my therapy and business life. In an ideal world, I would have everything already laid out, picked out, and ready to go zoom in the Yellow Xterra.
But if I'm being REAL honest with ya'll, I am one hot m e s s. I say that to be real, to be authentic, because I am human.
I'm clumsy, and funny, and my car....LORD KNOWS, I basically live out of it, and you know WHAT? ALL of that, even the hilarious parts, makes me uniquely and unapologetically ME. I strive to create a space for my clients where they can understand who they are, and be okay with that. I like creating moments where you're reminded of who you deserve to be. And my main objective in this business is to BE so creative that clients can become creative too, if they just allow themselves to go there. My goal in this blog is to just be REAL and to show you some behind the scenes of what photography life, especially in the wedding world, is REALLY like. It's fun, it's messy, it's H O T, it can get steamy, emotional, raw. There are funny moments, hilarious moments even, and a lot of crying happens, on both the vendor side and the wedding party/guests experience. I like to dance, to sing, to tell weird jokes and puns, I like coffee and I feed my team and get them gas after every session and wedding when they let me. We have an awesome team, I described above, and I am introducing to ya'll below with their head shots! My interns are going to be introduced in the fall after they practice with us!
